There's a difference between a house that was planned and one that was designed. Planned houses solve for square footage and a budget. Designed houses solve for those too — but they also get the proportions right, place the windows where they belong, and make the everyday moments of living in a home feel effortless.
Because Lamp Design Build is led by a licensed architect, that thinking is baked in from the start. We're not adapting a stock plan or working backward from a builder's framing template. Building well in New Orleans, across the Northshore, and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast means designing for this place specifically — the heat and humidity, the storm exposure, the flood considerations, and the particular light and landscape of the region. A home designed in a vacuum doesn't hold up here. A home designed for here does.
In the New Orleans metro that knowledge matters even more: elevated and raised construction, flood-zone and base-flood-elevation requirements, historic-district considerations, and the realities of building on Gulf South soils. We bring a working understanding of regional building codes, coastal construction requirements, elevation and flood-zone realities, and the materials and detailing that survive this climate. That isn't an add-on. It's part of the design from day one.
